|1. whodat||3 up, 3 down|
Whodat - originally "Who dat?" slang for "who is that?" started back in the late 1800's Vaudeville - evolved to a rallying cry in New Orleans for unity and championing a cause (or a team); also used to refer to supporters of same (commonly called "Whodat Nation"). Sometimes used as an emphatic in place of common New Orleans expressions "Yeah you right" or "Ya heard!" Often printed/spoken as a single word "whodat".
"Whodat say dey gonna beat this team? Nobody, dats who!" Our school just received a $10K grant for arts programs. Whodat!
