A misleading message on Twitter, usually at the behest of a person soliciting tweets; similar to a "crank phone call".


Example: 
On July 27, 2009, the day Sarah Palin officially stepped down as Governor of Alaska, CNN anchor Don Lemon asked viewers for reaction to Palins farewell address, as he is want to do with any newsworthy topic, through social networking sites such as Twitter. Lemon noticed that a large portion of the tweets were anti-Palin, so he openly asked for some "positive comments" on Palin. Later, Lemon read on air this tweet from @DanPasternack: "You want a positive Sarah Palin comment? Im positive that shes an idiot." Lemon immediately said, "Thats not the one..."
